The Paella Artisan , is offering Paella making workshops, where the participating guest will learn how to make this famous Spanish dish.

 

 

Join Chef Manuel and learn how to make a delicious Paella Valenciana (Chicken and Seafood Paella).
Chef Manuel unpacks the history of this Spanish culinary treasure “The Paella” while demonstrating the proper techniques to create this timeless and delicious dish.

Currently we are offering this service for groups only  (ten people or more)

 In a Nut Shell

After a short presentation, in which Chef Manuel will talk about the Paella’s history, ingredients and cooking techniques, Chef Manuel will ask for volunteers to help him prep some of the ingredients, once all the ingredients are ready, he will begin cooking a paella large enough for all in attendance. As he prepares the delicious meal, he will go over the cooking process step-by-step, giving participants a front-row seat to seeing The Paella Artisan at work. Once the delicious Paella Valenciana is done, Chef Manuel will pass out portions to each student. At that time, students will decide to sit down and enjoy their serving at the cozy “Sidewalk Cafe”, or take it home to enjoy later.

The paella Artisan general workshop info.

 

1.)    How many people can you accommodate in a cooking class?

Minimum of 10 people

 

2.)    Where is the class given?

I usually offer the class at a location provided by the host/ hostess. (private home, club house, etc. basically any location that may accommodate the number of attendees comfortably and will allow open flame cooking , and since I bring all the paella cooking equipment, I don’t necessary need access to a kitchen, although it would be better to have it)

Alternatively, I have an agreement with the owners of the Sidewalk Cafe HTS located at 2057 N Los Robles Ave. Pasadena, CA 91104, where for a small fee, I can hold the workshop at the café. (Maximum of twenty people) (subject to availability)

 

3.)    Does it include a dinner afterward where we sit down and eat what we cook?

The way it works is: I will provide all the ingredients for a Paella Valenciana (Chicken and seafood Paella) I will pass a brochure with the exact recipe that we’ll prepare and a brief history of this famous Spanish dish. Then I’ll give a short presentation, in which I’ll talk about the history, ingredients and cooking techniques, then I’ll ask some of the guests to help me prep some of the ingredients, and will start cooking the paella, explaining the process, step by step.

Once the paella is done, all the attendees will get a nice serving to enjoy there or to take it home if they wish.

I will provide disposable dinnerware and to-go containers, (I always make enough so there is some left over)

Salad and appetizers available for an additional fee.

The workshop takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours

 

4) What is the price per person?

If held at a private location, (Depending of the location there will be some travel time charges added)

  • $70.00 per person for groups of 10 to 20 people
  • $65.00 per person for group of more than 20 people

Or if the class is held at the “Sidewalk Café” location,

  • $75.00 per person for groups of 10 to 20 people

Salad and appetizers available for an additional fee.
